According to a report by foreign news outlet The Verge, Meta's chief product officer Chris Cox said the app is the Facebook and Instagram owner's "response to Twitter."

The new text-sharing social network is codenamed Project92, while its public name is likely to be Threads, The Verge reports.

"We are working on a social network that shares text updates, we believe there is a place for an app where creators and celebrities share updates about their interests," said Metta's chief product officer. can share

Chris Cox added that coding for the app began in January and is now being tested with creators and influencers. It will be made available as a new social media platform as soon as possible.

He added that the company aims to make the app easy, secure and reliable for users to use while also giving creators a stable place to build and grow their audience.

screenshot of the app published by The Verge showed an interface similar to Twitter, with blue ticks, a profile pic and like, reply and retweet buttons.

According to sources, the new app will be based on Instagram and users will be able to sign in with their Instagram username and password, their followers, user bio and verification will be transferred to the new app.

According to the report, users will also be able to broadcast their posts to other servers, but some features are still unclear, such as following each other or resharing a post like users do on Twitter.
